Could a pill ease sleep apnea? new trial investigates

NCT ID NCT05612594

Summary

This study is testing if a drug called bexagliflozin, already used for diabetes, can help reduce the severity of sleep apnea. Over 160 overweight or obese adults with moderate to severe sleep apnea will take either the drug or a placebo pill daily for six months. Researchers will measure changes in breathing during sleep, body fat, and sleep quality to see if the drug helps.
