Could a common sleep pill slow down Alzheimer's?

NCT ID NCT06274528

Summary

This study is testing whether a prescription sleep aid called lemborexant can reduce levels of proteins linked to Alzheimer's disease in the body. It will involve about 200 older adults who have early signs of Alzheimer's but no memory problems yet. Researchers will measure protein levels in blood and spinal fluid after six months of treatment to see if the sleep medication has a positive effect.
