Can a Mother's first hug rewire a Preemie's stress genes?

NCT ID NCT05975203

Summary

This study is investigating whether immediate skin-to-skin contact between a mother and her preterm baby after birth can influence the baby's stress-related genes and improve their development. Researchers will compare 60 preterm babies who receive this immediate contact with those who are separated briefly after a vaginal birth. The goal is to understand if this simple, natural practice has a measurable biological impact on a child's long-term health and stress tolerance.
