Own cells injected to toughen amputee skin for better artificial limbs

NCT ID NCT04839497

Summary

This study is testing whether injecting a person's own skin cells can make the skin on their residual limb firmer and more durable. It aims to improve comfort and function for people who use a prosthetic leg. The trial will involve 20 adults with a below-the-knee amputation, comparing the cell injections to a placebo. Researchers will check for safety and measure changes in skin firmness over three months.
