Hormone gel transfer: does washing or clothing protect women?

NCT ID NCT02994602

First seen Jun 27, 2026 ยท Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study looked at whether washing the skin or wearing a shirt can stop a hormone gel (Nestorone + testosterone) from transferring from men to women during skin contact. Healthy men applied the gel, then women touched the application site under different conditions. The goal was to measure changes in women's hormone levels to understand how to prevent accidental exposure.
