Spray tested to soothe painful radiation burns in breast cancer patients

NCT ID NCT02839473

Summary

This study tested whether a medical spray called Hydrosorb works better than a simple water spray to prevent and treat skin damage from radiation therapy in women with breast cancer. Researchers enrolled 278 women who developed mild to moderate skin redness or irritation during their radiation treatment. The main goal was to see if the Hydrosorb spray could help patients complete their radiation without having to stop due to severe skin reactions.
