New consensus aims to soothe skin side effects of breast cancer treatment
NCT ID NCT07306130
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study brings together 15 healthcare experts to agree on the best ways to care for skin during breast cancer treatment. Many cancer therapies cause skin problems like dryness, rashes, and irritation. The goal is to create simple, clear recommendations—such as using gentle cleansers and moisturizers—to help patients avoid these issues and stay on track with their treatment.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
What this could lead to
If successful, this could lead to standardized, evidence-based skin care recommendations that help breast cancer patients manage treatment-related skin problems and improve quality of life.
What could go wrong
This is a small consensus study with only 15 experts, not a clinical trial testing a treatment. The recommendations may not apply to all patients or settings.
