Doctors get crash course to catch deadly skin cancer sooner

NCT ID NCT05675709

Summary

This study tested whether a special training program could help primary care doctors get better at identifying possible skin cancers, especially melanoma, and knowing when to send patients to a skin specialist. Fifty-four doctors from two clinics participated, with some receiving the training and others serving as a comparison group. Researchers measured changes in the doctors' knowledge and their rates of referring patients to dermatologists before and after the training.
