First seen Feb 28, 2026 · Last updated Jun 13, 2026 · Updated 11 times
Summary
This study tested whether sitagliptin, a common diabetes medication, could prevent acute graft-versus-host disease (GVHD) in 190 adults receiving stem cell transplants from related or unrelated donors. Participants took sitagliptin alongside standard GVHD prevention. The goal was to lower the rate of moderate-to-severe GVHD within 100 days after transplant. The trial is complete, and results may offer a new way to protect transplant patients.
