Could a common drug unlock Alzheimer's prevention by boosting brain blood flow?

NCT ID NCT05386914

Summary

This early-stage study is investigating whether sirolimus, an FDA-approved medication, can improve blood flow to the brain in healthy adults who carry a genetic risk for Alzheimer's disease. Researchers are using MRI scans to measure changes in brain blood flow and, in a second part of the study, also examining lung function. The goal is to understand the drug's effects and its potential relationship to Alzheimer's disease development, not to treat current symptoms.
