New device zaps leftover cancer cells during breast surgery

Summary

This study tests a device that uses heat to destroy any remaining cancer cells in the tissue around a removed breast tumor. Ten women aged 50 and older with a specific type of breast cancer will receive this treatment right after their lumpectomy. The goal is to see if the device is safe and helps clean the surgical area without harming healing.
