Summary
This study tests whether using a single-use gastroscope at the patient's bedside can shorten the time from when a doctor decides a stomach exam is needed to when it actually happens, compared to the usual reusable scopes in the endoscopy unit. The trial includes 180 adults admitted to a surgical ward who need an upper endoscopy without general anesthesia. Researchers will also look at procedure duration, need for sedation, and technical success.
