Robot surgeons test Single-Hole surgery for colon and rectal operations
NCT ID NCT05321134
Summary
This study is testing a new, less invasive robotic surgery system that uses just one small opening instead of several. Researchers at UC Davis will perform colorectal surgeries on 25 patients using this single-port robot and compare their recovery and safety results to patients who had the standard multi-port robotic surgery. The goal is to see if the new system is a safe and effective option for treating conditions like colorectal cancer and rectal prolapse.
