Common cholesterol pill tested for debilitating pancreatitis pain

Summary
This early pilot study is testing whether simvastatin, a common cholesterol medication, can help reduce pain and improve quality of life for people with chronic or recurrent pancreatitis. The study will enroll 90 adults to take either simvastatin or a placebo pill for six months, tracking their pain levels and daily life impact. The main goal is to see if this type of trial is practical to run and acceptable to patients, while also checking for early signs that the drug might help.
