Common cholesterol drug tested for debilitating pancreatitis pain

Summary
This pilot study is testing if a common cholesterol medication, simvastatin, can help reduce pain and improve daily life for adults with chronic or recurrent pancreatitis. It will involve 90 participants who will take either simvastatin or a placebo pill for six months. The main goal is to see if this type of study is practical to run, while also checking if the drug helps with pain and quality of life.
