Can a Pre-Dose stop a dangerous immune reaction?

NCT ID NCT06447376

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This early-phase trial tests whether giving siltuximab before epcoritamab can prevent cytokine release syndrome (CRS), a common and sometimes severe side effect. About 20 adults with non-Hodgkin lymphoma will receive siltuximab one hour before their first epcoritamab dose. Researchers will monitor for CRS and other side effects for at least 60 days.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.

Active substance

siltuximab and epcoritamab

What this could lead to

If it works, this could point toward a way to prevent a serious side effect (cytokine release syndrome) in lymphoma patients receiving epcoritamab.

What could go wrong

This is a very small, early-phase trial with only 20 participants. It is designed to test safety and feasibility, not effectiveness. The approach may not work or may have unknown risks.
