Milk thistle extract may help fight brain cancer

Summary
This study tests whether adding silibinin (a milk thistle extract) to standard chemoradiation and maintenance chemotherapy can slow the growth of a type of aggressive brain cancer called glioblastoma. About 110 newly diagnosed patients whose tumors have a specific marker (STAT3 positive) will receive either silibinin or a placebo alongside their usual treatment. The goal is to see if silibinin extends the time before the cancer progresses.
