NCT ID NCT07637916
First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 2 times
Summary
This study compares two physical therapy techniques for athletes with tightness in the back of the shoulder, a common issue in overhead sports like cricket. 34 athletes will receive either Kaltenborn joint mobilization or a specific stretch for 4 weeks. Researchers will measure pain, range of motion, and daily function to see which treatment works better.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
Kaltenborn joint mobilization and pragmatic posterior capsular stretch
What this could lead to
If successful, this could show which physical therapy technique better relieves shoulder tightness and pain in athletes, improving their function.
What could go wrong
This is a small, early-stage study with only 34 participants, so results may not apply to all athletes. The treatments are manual therapies, so outcomes depend on the therapist's skill.
