New study tests two ways to ease pain after shoulder surgery

Summary

This study aims to find the best way to manage pain after total shoulder replacement surgery. Researchers are comparing a single long-acting numbing injection to a temporary catheter that delivers numbing medicine for 1-2 days. The study will measure pain levels, opioid medication use, costs, and patient recovery in 56 adults undergoing this surgery.
