Summary
This study tests two types of nerve blocks for shoulder surgery to see which one is less likely to temporarily paralyze the diaphragm, the main muscle for breathing. About 70 adults having elective shoulder surgery will be randomly assigned to receive either a standard interscalene block or a newer shoulder PENG block. The goal is to find a safer way to numb the shoulder while reducing breathing complications.
