New tool aims to make baby shots less painful

NCT ID NCT06624176

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study tests whether a device called ShotBlocker can lower pain in healthy full-term newborns receiving their first Hepatitis B vaccine. Researchers will compare heart rate, oxygen levels, and pain scores between babies who get standard care (swaddling and sugar water) and those who also have ShotBlocker pressed against the injection site. 200 infants will take part to see if this simple tool adds extra comfort.
