Scientists test 3-Month cure for TB, cutting treatment time in half
NCT ID NCT05556746
Summary
This trial is testing whether a new combination of four drugs taken for 12 weeks can work as well as the standard 26-week treatment for drug-susceptible tuberculosis. It will involve 94 adults with active lung TB, some of whom also have HIV. The main goal is to see if the shorter treatment clears the TB bacteria from the lungs as quickly and safely as the standard regimen.
