New shorter radiation for sarcoma aims to speed recovery

Summary

This study tests a shorter, 2-3 week course of proton or carbon ion radiation given before surgery for soft tissue sarcoma in the arms or legs. The goal is to see if this approach reduces wound healing problems and improves quality of life compared to the standard 5-week treatment. About 42 adults with resectable sarcoma will participate.
