Could a week of radiation be enough? new study tests shorter breast cancer treatment
NCT ID NCT05318274
First seen Apr 05, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 6 times
Summary
This study tests whether a 1-week course of radiation after breast-conserving surgery works as well as the standard 3-week course for early-stage breast cancer. About 72 adults with ductal carcinoma in situ or early invasive breast cancer will be enrolled. The goal is to see if the shorter treatment controls cancer just as well and causes fewer side effects.
