5-Day radiation blitz aims to tame sarcomas with fewer side effects

NCT ID NCT02701153

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study tests a new radiation approach for adults with soft tissue sarcoma, a type of cancer. Instead of weeks of daily radiation, patients receive higher doses over just 5 days before surgery. The goal is to see if this shorter course kills tumor cells effectively while causing fewer long-term side effects like stiffness or swelling. About 51 people with recurrent or high-grade sarcoma will take part.
