First seen Apr 25, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 4 times

Summary

This study compares a 6-month version of dialectical behaviour therapy (DBT) to the standard 1-year program for people with borderline personality disorder who repeatedly self-harm. Researchers want to see if the shorter treatment is just as good at reducing self-harm and is more cost-effective. 240 participants will be randomly assigned to either 6 months or 1 year of DBT and followed for 2 years.
