5-Day radiation breakthrough tested for breast cancer

Summary
This study is testing whether a shorter, 5-day course of radiation is a safe and effective alternative to the standard longer treatment for women with early-stage breast cancer who have had a lumpectomy. It aims to see if this approach causes few or mild side effects while still controlling the cancer. The trial is enrolling 280 women aged 45 and older with specific types of early-stage breast cancer.
