Summary
This study aimed to see if giving antibiotics for 4 days is as safe and effective as the standard 7 days for treating early pneumonia in patients on breathing machines. It focused on surgical patients to try to reduce antibiotic side effects while still controlling the infection. The trial was stopped early after enrolling 27 participants.
