Could a shorter cast be just as good for Kids' broken arms?

NCT ID NCT05156749

First seen May 13, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This study looks at whether a short-arm cast works as well as a long-arm cast for children with certain forearm fractures (Salter-Harris I/II). About 120 kids aged 4 to 16 will be randomly assigned to one of the two cast types. The goal is to see if the shorter cast keeps the bone stable enough to heal properly, which could make treatment more comfortable for children.
