Shorter cast time for wrist breaks? new study tests 4 vs 6 weeks

NCT ID NCT07234370

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study looks at whether wearing a cast for 4 weeks instead of 6 weeks helps adults with a broken wrist recover just as well. About 80 adults aged 18 to 50 with a specific type of wrist fracture will be randomly assigned to either 4 or 6 weeks of casting. The main goal is to see if the shorter cast time leads to better arm and hand function and less disability.
