Shockwaves to the rescue for crippling leg pain

NCT ID NCT05145478

Summary

This study is testing a device that uses sound waves (shockwaves) to break up hard calcium deposits in the main artery of the thigh. It aims to see if this procedure improves pain, walking ability, and blood flow for 50 people with severe peripheral artery disease. Researchers will track how well the artery stays open and if patients' quality of life gets better over a year.
