Shock waves may speed up ACL rehab
NCT ID NCT06688344
First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 05, 2026 · Updated 22 times
Summary
This study tests whether adding focused shock wave therapy to standard physical therapy helps people recover better after anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reconstruction. About 32 adults with a first-time ACL tear will receive either standard rehab alone or standard rehab plus weekly shock wave sessions. Researchers will measure muscle strength, balance, range of motion, pain, and daily function to see if the extra treatment makes a difference.
