New scan could help ER doctors save shock patients faster
NCT ID NCT05888974
Summary
This study is testing a new, simpler ultrasound measurement to see if it can quickly tell whether a patient in shock will benefit from receiving IV fluids. Doctors will use a special ultrasound scan on the heart before and after giving fluids to 187 emergency room patients. The goal is to find a more reliable way to guide this critical early treatment decision.
