Quick scan vs. invasive tube: race to diagnose shock in the ER

NCT ID NCT07206732

Summary

This study aims to see if a quick, non-invasive ultrasound scan of a major vein is as good as a traditional, more invasive pressure monitor for detecting low blood volume in patients with shock. It will enroll 80 adult patients arriving at the emergency department in shock. Researchers will compare the two methods to see which one more accurately guides doctors on giving fluids.
