Extra vaccine dose tested to protect vulnerable kidney patients from shingles

NCT ID NCT04128189

Summary

This study is testing whether an extra dose of the shingles vaccine (Shingrix) provides better protection for people with kidney failure who receive a transplant. Researchers want to see how well the vaccine works and how safe it is in this group, who are at higher risk for shingles. The study will compare people who get a third dose after transplant to those who don't, to see if the extra dose improves their immune response.
