Summary
This study looked at whether sharing digital self-monitoring data (like weight, steps, and calories) with a friend or family member helps adults with overweight or obesity lose more weight over 24 months. About 320 adults used a wireless scale and Fitbit to track their progress. The goal was to see if extra accountability and support from others improves long-term weight loss.
