Diabetes pill trial aims to shrink Kids' fatty livers

Summary
This study is testing if a diabetes medication called empagliflozin can safely reduce fat in the liver of teenagers with obesity-related fatty liver disease (NAFLD). Forty adolescents will take the pill or a placebo daily for six months while also receiving lifestyle counseling. Researchers will use MRI scans to measure changes in liver fat and check for side effects.
