First seen Nov 04, 2025 · Last updated May 17, 2026 · Updated 25 times

Summary

This study looks at whether trained service dogs can help military veterans with PTSD feel better over time. About 150 veterans who already qualify for a service dog will be randomly assigned to get one or wait. Researchers will track PTSD symptoms, depression, and daily life for 15 months to see if the dogs make a real difference.
