Scientists track RNA shifts in sepsis patients to uncover immune mysteries

NCT ID NCT07418801

First seen Feb 22, 2026 · Last updated May 05, 2026 · Updated 8 times

Summary

This study looks at how sepsis alters the RNA in white blood cells, which may explain why some patients have long-lasting immune problems. Researchers will follow 290 adults, including 200 with sepsis, 50 critically ill without infection, and 40 healthy controls. They will take blood samples over time to map these changes and identify different immune response patterns.
