First seen Nov 21, 2025 · Last updated May 01, 2026 · Updated 20 times

Summary

This study looks at whether the type of IV fluid given to adults with sepsis in the emergency room affects their chance of survival within 24 hours. About 88 participants will receive either normal saline or Ringer's lactate as part of their standard care. Researchers will track deaths, need for blood pressure support, and length of hospital stay to see if one fluid is better.
