First seen Oct 31, 2025 · Last updated Jun 02, 2026 · Updated 37 times

Summary

This study tests two new risk scores that predict a patient's chance of developing sepsis or having a serious decline (like cardiac arrest) within the next four hours. The scores alert hospital staff so they can check vital signs sooner. About 150,000 adult patients at University of Maryland hospitals will take part, with the goal of catching problems earlier and improving care.
