First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated Apr 28, 2026 · Updated 26 times
Summary
This study aims to find out which sepsis patients benefit most from a combination of two steroids (hydrocortisone and fludrocortisone). About 1,800 adults in intensive care will receive either the steroid combo or a placebo. The main goal is to see if the treatment reduces death or the need for machines to help with breathing, kidney function, or blood pressure at 90 days.
