Summary

This study aimed to understand if a blood-filtering device used to treat severe sepsis also removes important antibiotics from a patient's bloodstream. Researchers observed 30 patients with sepsis to measure how much of three common antibiotics was filtered out by the device. The goal was to gather information to help doctors adjust antibiotic doses safely when using this therapy.
