Which laxative works best for Kids' accidental soiling? new study aims to find out

NCT ID NCT07604025

First seen May 22, 2026 · Last updated May 22, 2026

Summary

This study compares two laxatives, Senna and polyethylene glycol (PEG), to see which better reduces accidental soiling (fecal incontinence) in children aged 4 to 18 with long-term constipation. About 80 children will take one of the two daily medicines for 3 months, and neither families nor doctors will know which one is given. The goal is to find which treatment is more effective and better tolerated for this common and distressing childhood condition.
