First seen Jan 10, 2026 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 16 times

Summary

This study involved 13 adults with drug-resistant epilepsy to create a database for developing a seizure detection algorithm. Researchers used a wearable patch to record heart rate and movement, while patients also underwent video-EEG monitoring as the gold standard. The goal is to train an algorithm that can automatically detect generalized and focal seizures, helping reduce the unpredictability of seizures for patients and caregivers.
