Brain injury sedation study halted after one patient

NCT ID NCT01712477

Summary

This study aimed to learn if one of two common sedative drugs (propofol or midazolam) was better for people with serious brain injuries who needed help breathing. Researchers wanted to see if the choice of drug affected recovery, brain function, or levels of certain chemicals in the blood linked to injury. The study was stopped early after enrolling only one person, so no clear results were found.
