New sedative tested for faster, smoother stomach scopes

NCT ID NCT05836545

Summary

This study tested if a newer sedative drug (remimazolam) works better than a standard one (midazolam) for people getting a diagnostic upper endoscopy. Researchers compared the two drugs in 132 healthy volunteers to see which led to a faster procedure and more successful sedation. Patients did not know which drug they received during this single-blind trial.
