First seen Oct 31, 2025 · Last updated May 08, 2026 · Updated 25 times

Summary

This study compares two ways to sedate children before cleft palate repair surgery and prevent confusion or agitation after waking up. Sixty children will receive either a combination of two drugs (dexmedetomidine and ketamine) or dexmedetomidine alone through a nebulizer (a machine that turns liquid medicine into a mist to breathe in). The goal is to see which approach works better for keeping children calm and comfortable.
