Gun lock giveaway and doctor talks aim to stop child suicides

Summary

This study tests a program called S.A.F.E. Firearm in up to 15 Illinois health centers. Doctors will talk with parents about safely storing firearms and offer free cable locks during well-child visits. The goal is to see if this program helps parents lock up guns and if clinics can easily adopt it. About 666 parents and clinic staff will take part.
