New drug SCTB14 takes on standard immunotherapy in lung cancer showdown
NCT ID NCT07362459
First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This phase 3 trial compares a new experimental drug, SCTB14, to the standard immunotherapy pembrolizumab (Keytruda) as a first treatment for people with advanced non-small cell lung cancer whose tumors have high PD-L1 levels (TPS ≥10%). About 246 participants will receive either SCTB14 or pembrolizumab every 3 weeks. The main goal is to see if SCTB14 can delay cancer growth better than the current standard.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
- Active substance
- SCTB14 (an experimental immunotherapy drug given by IV every 3 weeks)
- What this could lead to
- If SCTB14 works better than pembrolizumab, it could offer a new first-line immunotherapy option for people with advanced lung cancer.
- What could go wrong
- This is an early-stage comparison; SCTB14 may not prove superior or could have unexpected side effects. The trial is still recruiting, so results are years away.
